October saw the begining of production on an exciting new made for TV project.  Working with Character Matters, Webandcircus looks to release a TV pilot based on the Zoovolution world in Spring 2009. “They’re going full steam ahead, “ commented Todd Macadangdang, CEO of Webandcircus. “It’s incredible how much and how fast the team at Character Matters are able to produce in such a short period of time.  They’ve been fantastic to work with.  So far, it’s been a real pleasure and privilege.”

As for working with Webandcircus, Writer and Director, Deryck Broom commented, “Working with Web and Circus has been brilliant.  I have thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in the Zoovolution world. The concept is strong, fun, and wholesome. I feel like a kid again.” As for challenges, Deryck added, “ I guess every time you are confronted with a blank canvass for creativity the challenge is, “Where do I start?” and nothing offers a blank canvass more than animation where everything is possible. Fortunately the Web and Circus team had great direction and we were able to hit the ground running. The biggest challenge is working on my patience, I want to see what the finished episodes look like already!”

Character Matters has completed a very successful full length animated feature fill, which will he theatres in the U.S. Spring 2009.  Starting on the Zoovolution project shortly after completing the animated feature has allowed the team to keep the standards of production high for the Zoovolution project.  “ The most challenging part of the project will be to transcend typical quality levels. At the same time to consistently offer a cost effective production that is successful not only i.t.o quality of the visual product, but also i.t.o character performance in animation, “ Studio head Chris Schoultz commented.

The distance between the gaming studio (located in Norway) and animation studio (located in South Africa), doesn’t seem to pose a problem for either team.  “We love working with CM.  They’re a great group of people, and that’s what you look for in any type of partnership.  Not necessarily location, “ said Ari Mathiesen.  “With the internet, skype and e-mail, distance is not a problem.  And their in our timezone, so that’s great too, “ added Todd.  The feeling seems to be mutual, “Todd and Ari have made it so easy, we’ve encountered absolutely no issues working remotely - obviously we’d love to have them next door just because they’re nice guys, “ Chris added.

Deryck summed up the partnership this way, “It is really great to work with a team who know what they want to achieve, and give creative freedom within the vision to expand on the dream.” By the way the project is progressing, the feeling is mutual.  The Zoovolution Pilot (Endevour) is schedule to be completed in March 2009.
