WebandCircus Receives One Million Kroners from SR-FUND

September 20, 2008

Co-owner Ari Mathiesen was able to meet with and successfully secure the SR-FUND investment grant as the summer came to a close.  “We have a strong IP with Zoovolution “, commented Ari Mathiesen, “ and a TV series is to us an obvious next step.  The SR-FUND people understood our vision, and our new daughter company will allow us to start moving in that direction.”

CEO/Project Manager, Todd Macadangdang added, “ Ari feels strongly about using TV as a marketing tool, and I agree.  You really can’t find a more powerful way to promote an online game than a TV series for kids.  Just a few years back, it would be different.  You would take a popular TV series and maybe support it with and online community or game.  But because we’ve built our casual MMO on a strong IP, we can actually base a TV series on the game IP.”

WebandCircus is currently working with Character Matters SA, an animation studio, to produce the 24 minute pilot which will be completed in the spring.  “Todd actually has enough of the plot available to create a first season, “ commented Ari, “ With the SR-Fund, we are able to begin the process of bringing Zoovolution to children’s television.”

In addition to the SR-Fund, an additional NOK 575 000 was granted from Innovasjon Norge.  “Innovation Norway has supported us from the very start with Zoovolution. It’s a wonderful when you feel that someone believes in you “, said Todd.  “We continue to work with Innovasjon Norge because they are visionaries and understand how and where we want to grow WebandCircus “, added Ari. “ We are a very lucky company, and we appreciate all the local support on current and future projects.”
